Alas, the time has come to end our Battle of The Leading Men weekend Romantic Getaway, and proclaim the Ultimate Final Battle Results and Winner.
We would like to thank our hosts, Clint Eastwood & Timothy Olyphant, and will miss them terribly.
Our top 3 Finalists, Robert Downey Jr., Hugh Jackman and Johnny Depp came through some tough battles to make it to the very end, and here is a re-cap with some of their highlights…
*Robert Downey Jr. beat Paul Rudd in the 1st Round, Jason Bateman in the 2nd Round, Vince Vaughan in the 3rd Round, Mathew Fox in the 4th Round and Mathew MacFayden in the Semi Finals.
“He’s one of those actors, who can really become someone else on screen even though we all know him very well, or think we know him.”
*Hugh Jackman beat Chris Hemsworth in the 1st Round, Ryan Reynolds in the 2nd Round, Gerard Butler in the 3rd Round, Mathew McConaughey in the 4th Round and Sean Connery in the Semi Finals.
“He said that when he started at the drama school, the acting just wasn’t coming to him. He didn’t feel like a natural like everyone else in class. This is what pushed him to work very hard at all of his auditions, and why he is where he is today.”
*Johnny Depp beat Christian Bale in the 1st Round, Ryan Gossling in the 2nd Round, David Beckham in the 3rd Round, Colin Farrell in the 4th Round and Eric Dane in the Semi Finals.
”He got into music first before acting, and dropped out of High School to become a rock musician. This led to meeting Nicolas Cage, who suggested he become an actor.”
