How to Monetize your Blog!
Tips from our Club-Content…
Some think you have to be very established before monetizing your site, but you actually don’t have to wait for your website to attain high page rank and thousands of followers before starting to monetize it.
It all begins with quality content at your blog’s core. As soon as you’ve got that, you can put any combination of the six strategies we cover at Club-Content’s Local Flair Focus to generate that community of loyal followers and drive dynamic traffic to your website.
You need to always keep in mind the 2 most important bookmarks to reach before monetizing your blog.
1. You must develop high-value, original content
2. You must build a community of loyal followers
Your community doesn’t have to be huge, just loyal, and you need to provide informative, helpful and entertaining content for your readers. You’ll find that developing your quality content, is what brings more of your loyal followers.
So, where do you start once you’ve reached these bookmarks? Let’s re-cap where you might be…
*You’ve paid careful attention to your Search Engine Optimization, and started a blog.
*You’ve set up your social media and let members of your forum know you’re up and running.
*You’ve even taken the essential first step, and created a free gift or report or “Freebie” that we cover on our business blogging series, so that people can sign up to your list through your opt-in box.
(You can find our entire series of List Building explanations and strategies at our Local Flair Focus as well!)
However, getting people to sign up to your list is just the beginning. You need to be aware of the many ways to monetize your website traffic, in order to get the best benefit from all of your hard work.
Why should you settle for just one stream of income when you could have several…all from the same site content?
You can choose a passive style of monetization, or a more active one that can ignite your passion and keep you happily involved over many years!
Do yourself a favor first, and consider your overall business plan. Which strategy would be your perfect fit, and target your reader or customer best?

Some really great advice and thanks for sharing
I love what you are doing here. It has taken me nearly two years of blogging to figure all this out and I am still learning (now from you!)… Thank you thank you thank you for such great info. Club-Content is super important for all of us who want to get ahead!
Thanks Janine!
Jacqueline, I appreciate that so much, and you’re so welcome!! I too started off not knowing a thing in blogging, and so I’m trying to make Club-Content what I would actually have wanted those years I didn’t know, and then help everyone at all levels, including the business side of it.
Christina and I will continue to grow Club-Content as the best blogging resource you can find!;)
I had no idea I was supposed to generate a following before monetizing! Thanks for sharing. The blog I usually share on here, Susanna’s Apron, was never intended to be monetized, but I have already monetized my new blog. Hopefully it won’t matter that I didn’t collect a following first, since it is localized and already being used quite a bit.
Being new to all this is overwhelming, your right about finding loyal followers even if you don’t have a lot of followers. I’m still working on that.(:
Lisa, you’re fine. It’s more about seeing actual money from monetization and being effective.
Nicolle, building trust with your readers is so important. Followers will come, as long as you’re putting in what you want to get back.
Can you just come to Jacksonville, NC and teach me some classes. You have a wealth of info. I would seriously buy your book. Can you write a book? ;-D
Kenya, you’re funny.
We have a super affordable membership price of only .41 cents/month or $5/yr., and you can have access to all of our resources there, and read our growing novel of blog tips;)
Such great information here. I will have to check out your other posts on list building. Having an actively engaged list is so important, so it’s something I’m concentrating on now.
Is it wrong that I’ve never really been concerned about this? Sometimes I feel like I’m weird because I don’t have ads. What do you think? Am I making a mistake?
So tell me more about this $5/year membership… I thought it was a lot more expensive than that, when I checked it out.
Shannon, you don’t have to have ads, especially if they don’t suit you, but you can do other things, like building your list, and growing your audience to notice a product you’re selling. You can use your blog in many ways to help yourself.
Lisa,
We have many types of memberships, and the regular at $5/yr is the most affordable(at the bottom of the join page). We have quite a variety to fit different budgets, plus different blogging needs, such as for business bloggers.
I’ve got the content, but building a community of loyal followers is hard… They keep ditching me.
