LITTLE COMEDY CLUB....BATTLES

When The Hubs needs to run an errand, we usually all go. I realize it would be much easier, faster, and even more pleasant if he went alone, but he travels so much for work and likes us to be together any chance we get. We were all walking into Staples and The Monster was wearing MY flip-flops, inching along awkwardly.

As we left the house, I told her she needed shoes. She rummaged through the shoe basket we keep by the front door, passing over every single kids’ shoe, until she got to my flip-flops at the bottom. Of course she did, because that’s who she is. Anyway, I digress.

A car with an elderly couple in it had to stop and wait patiently for The Monster to finish crossing......slowly. The wise woman in the passenger seat noticed the large flip-flops tripping her up. And it quickly became obvious that she has dealt with her own little monsters once upon a time. She rolled down her window, smiled and said to me, "You have to choose your battles, don't you?"

It made me laugh out loud. Yes, we do have to choose our battles and some of them just aren’t worth it.

'Tin,
This made me laugh so hard, because I can just picture her with that look she gets on her face, inching across the parking lot. She's very aware of what she's doing, huh! Loved this!

This is sooo cute! I can totally relate ;)

P. S. we always go with my husband too lol. One of the many gifts he gets to deal with each weekend ;) --still giggling--

Oh how funny! Don't we have to do this as mothers, wives, sisters and daughters too?
First your flip-flops....next your heels!

I'm still LOL, this is so funny yet so true. Don't we all have to go with hubby to run errands -- only because most of them can't see the paper towels on the middle shelf : ). And as a mom of 2 girls I can see them tripping over their feet on my flip-flops when they were 4 and 5.

I just came from voiceboks and I will definitely continue reading your posts.

Hahaha this made me laugh out loud! My baby girl is only 3 months old, but I work in a daycare with 4 & 5 year olds. One little girl comes in every day wearing something crazier than the day before. I LOVE that her mom lets her do this...too many parents are worried about dressing their kid in the hottest or latest trends to go out. I know I'll be the mom holding hands with a little girl dressed in a cape, pajamas, and cowboy boots at the mall :)

Nice! I know my mother always thinks that I should pick out my daughter's clothes (I let her pick them out herself and they don't always match), but your post is EXACTLY the way I feel about it!!! It's not such a big deal if she doesn't match, is it? lol. Besides, if she thinks she looks great, why should I arguy with her!
Have a great weekend!! (:

Thanks, everyone. It's very reassuring to hear that you all can relate and even might have a monster of your own.

And I am definitely on the side of letting them pick their own clothes, no matter how ridiculous. It's more funny that way, anyway.
