Welcome to Week 4 of Betina's and my adventure with our online personal trainer, Kimberly Brockway of Renewal Fitness!
Each week, we both will keep a journal of our progress of getting back in shape, and bring our reports to you. May they help to inspire you with your goals as well! You can always link up any of your fitness/health posts on our Fit & Fabulous Hop below. Please check out Kimberly's online service, and see if you'd like to try her system!
Courtney's Renewal Fitness Journal Week 4:
What I accomplished in Week 4:
This week, business was booming, and my workouts suffered, plus we had some social get- togethers that got me off track with the food intake. Then, my husband and running partner got sick. I hate to have to write this, but I really bombed out. The bright side is that I will push to do better next week so that it's not so embarrassing!
Total exercise time: 5 minutes
Weight: Up 1 pound
Measurements: My pants still feel lose, but I'm still not brave enough to measure.
Betina's Renewal Fitness Journal Week 4:
What I accomplished in Week 4:
Hooray! The flu is gone. So I accomplished most of the goals I set for myself to make up for being sick. I completed all of the workouts from Kimberly. I also entered into a fun contest with my girlfriend, who is also addicted to sugar. We agreed that we can have one cheat day a week (mine was Saturday) and on all other days we must abstain from sugar. If we don't, we have to pay the other $5.00 for each infraction. Another girlfriend wants to join in, but felt that $5.00 was steep. I told her it's not steep if you don't cheat!! It's really helpful to have partners and games to help motivate me.
I lost another 2lbs!! I am super excited and feeling good. However, I still didn't do the workout or nutrition log. Why is that so hard for me?? I know it would help to see in writing what I am doing or not doing.
I'll try harder this week.
Don't forget to link up, read through, and get some inspiration!

sobs sobs...guess the flu had fkew over to me...now am down with flu. Nah...just joking. The flu was not due to you but rather of my own carelessness in taking too much unsuitable food
I am proud of your accomplishments. Sometimes it is the cheats that make us more aware of our food intake and how it affects our health and waistlines. I am about to embark (and blog about) a 6 week "Clean Diet" without the benefit of wheat, or indeed much of any, grain, nightshades, or dairy. You have, for the most part, been the inspiration! Great job ladies!
When I get sick I want to keep exercising, but my husband reminds me that my body needs to rest. So don't feel guilty for taking a week off. You needed it to get better.
Sometimes it's hard to stick to it, but I know you'll do better next week!
And, Betina, great job! I'd not be able to join with you and your friend - I'd be broke in a week. I love my sugar a little too much lol!
Courtney... I love reading your posts! Don't feel discouraged.. even if you do not get the time to actually work out, you can still make healthy choices that will benefit you! Blessings! Hang in there.. YOU CAN DO IT!!
'Tin, I can't believe how well you're doing! Awesome!
Thanks everyone for lifting me up today...appreciate the support:)

Courtney I give you so much credit for putting it out there and really sharing your journey. I find it very helpful. I still have not been able to really get on the bandwagon and it helps to see your own struggle and success's!
Betina, I think it's great what you are doing and congrats for moving forward in your goals. I don't know how you do it with little children underfoot.
Thank you both for sharing your stories!
Kudos to you guys for doing this! And I admire you even more for the one treat day a week for sugar! I'm not sure I can do that but that sure is a challenge I can aim for! Thanks for the inspiration and keep up the good work :-))
I'd like to join you but I'm too busy eating salted caramel chocolate thingies...don't want em to go bad, you know.

Hey girls, your journal's are motivating to me. Even if you only got in 5 minutes of exercise. That's 5 minutes more than I got this week. I can't believe how far off the running wagon I've fallen lately. The worst part is that I can tell in my emotional state that I really NEED to be running regularly. It's so good for helping burn off anxiety and stress.
Keep up the great work and remember, next week is a new week. :)
Blessings,
~Rosann
I love the honesty here! Doesn;t life sometimes just get in the way! I can not wait to continue to follow this journey. Hmmmm I should be doing it with you...Yep I should!
It is so annoying when women go on diets and stick to them and loose weight....makes me feel like such a failure...LOL
Happy Wednesday!
Don't worry Becky Jane, I'm not one of those women obviously;)
This is likely the very first fitness journal that I'll actually look forward to reading. Thank you for keeping it real :)
I just want you to know that even though I love you, I hate you too! UGH! Yeah, yeah...I just got back on my exercise routine, but I hate it.
But thanks for making me laugh about not being brave enough to meet up with the scale yet.
Jeez...why can't we just shoot up or something? I've heard people lose weight really fast when they don't sleep or eat for days :)
LUV YA!
Sharon
