Welcome to our new Designer Insider Series, where I go behind the scenes as a designer, and reveal some of the stylish inspirations that might catch my eye or trigger an idea--giving you the mechanics and engineering of how an idea evolves, and makes it all the way to a customer's hands.
I get my ideas from many sources...many while sleeping, or leafing through fashion and decor magazines. If something catches my eye, I mark it, and fold down the corner of the page, or write it down and sketch it out. Later, I come back to these tabs and sketches, and sometimes an idea just hits, or something I thought of before becomes something else, or a brand new idea comes out of the blue.
One of my favorite places to get inspiration is on Etsy. This intriguing Evolution Bracelet Set from Lunaversoul Jewelry caught my eye...
What my eye sees is the delicious combination and blend of grey, charcoal, cocoa and silver, and I see my fabric mimicking the beading and shape. Right now, this may become an obi style fabric belt that I can envision in my head. We'll see how it evolves!...

I'm loving Designer Insider! I don't have an eye for things like you do, but I LOVE clothes, jewelry, etc and I also LOVE Etsy, so you're posts are very interesting! I really love that bracelet...it's very unique!

That is one tough bracelet! Just like Lisa said, I don't have an inch of creativity in my bones, but I LOVE fashion! Looking forward to seeing your ideas and designs...living vicariously, right?!?
My ears, wrists, neck and waist are naked. Not into any type of jewelry or belts. I lack a sense of personal style and I am lucky to get dressed in anything other than sweats. I look nice at work in my uniforms though. I consider that my real wardrobe.

I know that you will be coming out with lots of good stuffs this year. This bracelet is typically my stuff and I'm liking it. I'll always stay connected to find out more of what you ladies have under your sleeves. LOl.
I love that you get ideas when you're asleep - that happens to me sometimes too, and then I end up being unable to go back to sleep because I want the morning to hurry up and arrive so I can do it!

Pinterest is good for inspiration, too. Have you ever been able to get onto Pinterest?
No, Pinterest doesn't respond. I've sent e-mails to their bug people, and never heard back. I know I can create some good boards, but they just won't let me!:(

How cool to get a glimpse of your process. I love how some people can look at an object that I just see as pretty and be able to create something completely new and original! I can't wait to see what you create!!
