Our oldest, who is 7, is very emotional and sensitive. My friends always tell me he's going to make the perfect husband.
I always expected my son to be an athlete, like I and my siblings were, but he's just not that into it. I have learned a lot from him, though, and appreciate his tender heart. He's hilarious, kind, dramatic, fun and smart. He gets things. He sometimes wants to just hang out with the grown-ups and listen to our conversations instead of playing with the kids. And he retains EVERYTHING he hears. He entertains us always.
Just this week he had a couple of funnies:
Dad was talking to him about how old he's getting, and told him before he knows it he's going to be a teenager. G said, "You better stop talking about it, Dad, or Mom's gonna get all emotional."
The school sent home a flyer for wrestling camp, and G asked if he could do it. I couldn't sign him up fast enough. His best friend is going too. On the ride home from this manly sport...
G says to his friend, "Do you like Justin Bieber?"
Reese: "No, he sings like a girl."
G: "Well, I don't like him because he's inappropriate."
Reese: "Why is he inappropriate?"
G: "Because he wears his pants too low, and he makes out with his girlfriend. I actually like the way he sings."
Reese: Lots of people make out with their girlfriends.
G: "That doesn't mean it's ok."
Ha! I love listening to kids' conversations.

I love that he said Bieber was inappropriate!
He really does listen to the adults, huh;)

Betina,he is one smart boy!!! you are very lucky. Inappropriate he is, I agree. I don't like JB. I know! I'm so mean! My daughter only knows about him from school. She never even mentioned him until this year and we finally let her listen to "baby" before that, she connected that song to alvin and the chipmunks! hahaha!!!!
That is great! Too funny, my son (8yrs old) refers to himself as "G dog." We had a similar conversation about something when he accidentally said it was 'unappropriate' we still tease and say the word the "unappropriate" word on purpose. Gotta love family funnies!
what a sweetie pie!
Too cute! I enjoy listening to little ones and their perspective1
So adorable! There is nothing like a sweet and sensitive son to make your heart sing. He is going to make some lucky woman happy one day. Just don't let him turn 14. :)
"You better stop talking about it, Dad, or Mom's gonna get all emotional." - that is my favorite!! How funny!
He's awful sweet =)
And, by the way, I love Justin Bieber. Inappropriate or not, he's just a cutie!!! LOL
Oh my gosh this is hilarious! I love it ;)
Amazing how much they listening to us when we least expect it. I always love hearing their conversations too. My kids love the new Karate Kid movie but get upset that the last song is by Justin Bieber. They have decided that he is just NOT cool. Ha!
Love this! He's wise beyond his years! And he seems to know his mom well. My 6- and 7-yr-old girls just like to mock me when I get emotional. :)
Wow, he has really good morals for a 6 year old! He sounds like a little grown up! I think the old adage "out of the mouth of babes" is so true. Kids are probably much more intuitive than we are! Can't link up because my kids are WAY too young to talk but I will be listening to them for sure!
My gosh, he's a mini me in male version!!!! Are you sure he's not an only child???? G can come stay with us anytime you need a break!!!!
