I personally, am always looking for technical help on the computer/website/SEO side of things, and was thinking that it would be nice to find information in one place, and even more importantly to find technical support from sources you know and trust.
Now, just like our Fit and Fabulous link up, as a one stop resource for fitness and health ideas, I'm starting a Tech Support Now Blog Hop as part of our Business Insider Series.
Recently, I came across an excellent article on Google Page Rank, Website Graders and Website Analyzers from Stacey of This Lil Piglet, and wanted to share it with you as well.
Luckily, Stacey is a fellow member of voiceBoks, a wonderful community and social network of Mothers and Mom Bloggers. When I find something within our voiceBoks community like that, I automatically feel good about the source, and like that I'm getting information from someone who is in my same shoes.
Remember my major fiasco with the so-called experts from my web hosting company, who led me down the wrong path multiple times in setting up my custom domain? I spelled out the whole story in Not All Technical Support is Created Equally, where I was able to offer proper guidance for others, and let them learn from my mistakes.
I just had another domain glitch with our LaDy LaDuke site, after running it through the Website Explorer from This Lil Piglet's post, and was able to refer back to my own writings on the topic to fix it!
Another issue I come across when searching for technical help online, is that articles are written in computer geek language, and the authors assume everything is common knowledge.

Don't get me wrong, nerds are my favorite people on the planet, and we would be nowhere without them.
For example, I discovered through the Website Grader, that my meta descriptions were missing. I searched for articles on meta descriptions to find out what they were, and got a brief explanation, but nothing to tell me where you put them.
I understand that for many of you, this is common knowledge, but I have a feeling many of you are just like I am...learning all of this from scratch.
I then did quite a few searches to find where to put a meta description, getting nothing helpful, until I finally typed in "where do I put my meta description on blogger?" I got a nice little explanation and code to copy and paste from Blogger Plugins.
As much as all of this technical stuff is absolutely foreign to me, and can hurt my brain staring at my html template, in addition to feeling just a little panic every time I get in there, that I might mess it up--I really love to learn it.
Each time I come across something that I didn't already know, and am able to learn it and implement it, I feel so liberated, satisfied and powerful. Knowledge is power as they say.

I intend to keep sharing what I learn and find here in our Business Insider Series, and now will offer a link up/blog hop for any of you who have posts you've written on technical support, and specifically technical help from other Mom Bloggers. That way, we can have a trusted and familiar source of information all in one place!
You are welcome to link up any of your direct posts on our Tech Support Now Blog Hop. Please do not link up your homepage.
You should also consider re-writing any of your posts in third person or article form, and submitting them to WikiMommy...a new resource, like Wikipedia, but for Moms! This is a great way to improve your traffic.

Ya VB's members are great. Always willing to share experience and help each other
Since I barely can turn on my computer I always need help and info, thank goodness for my voiceBok's friends or I would be all alone in cyber space!! Good to know about Stacey and her expertise too!! I always get so much out of my visits here! Love to you!!
Although I HEART NERDS too, I'm glad you put this all in one spot because I indeed am not one and look for help all of the time!
What a great idea for a link up! I to have a "no follow" post, but I see that it's already been covered in the link up, so no use in repeating the info! Thanks for sharing and starting this!
Lisa
P.S. Thanks for linking up to the Meaningful Monday blog hop! :)
This is sooo helpful.
Oh and I LOVE VB so much :0)
I don't have a clue about most technical things either. I just bought my domain. But, I bought it through Blogger. Just typed it in the thing after I bought it and I'm hoping Blogger will do the rest of the work. I'm already having keyword searches coming into my .com blog, so I hope I don't need to do anything else. We'll see!! It's all so complicated. Why does it have to be so complicated?
No kidding Michelle!
I linked up and will look to see what tips I can get here.
This is a great idea. I just joined VB and I'm so glad I did. There is so much to learn and so little time.
Thanks so much for this. I will definitely be visiting often for much needed help.

I need tech support! I can't add any of my pictures to the thumbnail!! So my new name is "Pending"! Lisa
Such a great post! I feel like a blind woman in the ocean trying to find north--TOTALLY LOST! I'm bookmarking this for sure, so that once I have time (like when my baby is old enough to take care of himself, so like, in 10 years or so) I will DEFINITELY take the all the time I need to figure this geeky stuff all out!!!! (Fingers crossed!)
Thanks for the link-up and letting me get my geek on! Visiting from vB!
